OTE’s conn-x TV goes commercial

Greek incumbent telco OTE has announced the full commercial launch of its IPTV service, conn-x TV. The television-over-ADSL service is initially available to customers in the major urban areas of Attica (including Athens), Thessaloniki, Patras, Larissa and Iraklion (on the island of Crete). Packages include all domestic channels, 30 international channels and video-on-demand (VoD) services including film rentals. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, OTE soft launched the IPTV service in the same five regions in October 2008, offering a three-month trial to existing conn-x ADSL broadband customers.
