O2 to offer HSUPA-enabled modems

German telecoms website, Teltarif.de, has reported that O2 Germany will introduce two HSUPA-enabled modems to the consumer market within the next three months. O2 plans to offer the Surfstick Speed from March 2009, while express card Surfcard Speed will be launched in the middle of April. Both products support HSUPA with speeds of up to 5.76Mbps upload and up to 7.2Mbps download. O2 Germany began the upgrade of its UMTS network to HSUPA at the start of 2009, which is scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
