Telenor posts revenue rise but warns of tougher 2009

11 Feb 2009

Telenor has revealed that fourth-quarter net income fell to NOK2.2 billion (USD330 million), from NOK7.6 billion twelve months ago, despite an 11% rise in sales to NOK26.4 billion. EBITDA meanwhile was up 6.5% to NOK7.7 billion, ahead of analyst expectations. The company said that CAPEX during the quarter had been high because of the completion of major projects and network rollout in Asia. It added that it will focus on cost efficiency and reducing CAPEX in 2009 in the face of a more challenging business environment.
