TIM edges in on Intelig

Brazilian mobile operator TIM Particpacoes (TIM Brasil), the local unit of Telecom Italia, is reportedly close to securing a deal to acquire local and long-distance telecoms operator Intelig from Docas Investimentos, Dow Jones Newswires reports citing an article in local paper Valor Economico. Intelig posted revenue of BRL750 million (USD333.6 million) in 2007 and has debts of approximately BRL400 million.
