NBN reports to be released, but only after winner is announced

ZDnet Australia is reporting that the Federal Senate has passed a motion which will force the release of reports from an expert panel and the regulator ACCC regarding the National Broadband Network (NBN) tender. The move comes following complaints from opposition political parties, after the government refused to release the expert panel’s report last month. However, the ruling will delay the release of any NBN related material until after the winning bidder for the project has been unveiled. Communications minister Stephen Conroy had argued that the release of the findings prior to a winner being selected could lead to prohibit concerns.
