South Korean operator SK Telecom has announced that it has signed a deal with US-based network and solutions provider Sable Networks that will see the latter upgrade the Ministry of National Defence’s (MND’s) broadband converged network. Sable will deploy its S-Series solution nationwide as part of the upgrade project, and will provide enhanced IP services with application awareness, security and IPv4 and IPv6 routing. The MND network upgrade project, which will be managed by SKT, has a budget of KRW300 billion (USD215.7 million).
