Comcast opens free Wi-Fi trial

The largest US cable operator by subscribers, Comcast, has launched a trial of Wi-Fi wireless internet services at around rail stations across New Jersey. Comcast customers will be able to access the internet free of charge at speeds of up to 1.5Mbps. The trial follows a similar Wi-Fi rollout by another US cableco, Cablevision, which offers free wireless internet access to its subscribers in New York City.
