DT suggests increase in LLU fees

21 Jan 2009

German telecoms giant Deutsche Telekom (DT) has proposed an increase in the monthly fee for local loop unbundling (LLU), Reuters reports. The company has submitted a proposal to the country’s telecoms regulator, the Federal Network Agency (FNA), to charge its competitors EUR12.90 (USD16.74) per month, from the start of April, rather than extend the current rate of EUR10.50 which expires in March. DT explained that the increase is due to a rise in cost per connection and if approved, should help it finance a new, high speed broadband network in Germany.
