The local government in the city of Auckland has launched a city-wide Wi-Fi wireless internet service in partnership with internet provider Kordia. The mesh network covers seven districts and is aimed at stimulating business activity. Access at speeds of up to 2Mbps will cost NZD3 (USD1.64) an hour, NZD6.50 a day or NZD30 a week.
