WiMAX network to be expanded

Myanmar News reports that by the end of this month Red Link’s WiMAX network will have coverage of almost every township in the capital Yangon. According to U Myo Myint Nyunt, the company’s sales and marketing manager, Red Link has network coverage of 14 townships in eastern Yangon and one in the south. The extended network will cover Botahtaung, Pazundaung, Mingalar Taung Nyunt, Tarmwe, Yankin, Thingangyun, Thaketa, Dawbon, South Okkalapa, North Okkalapa, Dagon Myothit (North), Dagon Myo Thit (South), Dagon Myothit (East) and Dagon Seikkan townships to the east and Thanlyin township to the south.The service costs MMK1500 (USD237) to install, with variable monthly charges; the Enterprise Plan offers speeds of up to 256kbps, three email accounts and costs MMK75 per month.
