Nokia Siemens Networks has been selected to manage the backhaul for T-Mobile Austria’s cellular network. The vendor says it will deliver a complete managed services solution, including planning, installation and management, to provide increased transport network throughput. ‘With this agreement we are transferring an operational part of our network into the hands of Nokia Siemens Networks. This allows us to further focus on providing our customers with new and higher quality services thanks to increased bandwidth, which Nokia Siemens Networks will supply,’ said Jim Burke, Chief Technical Officer at T-Mobile Austria. T-Mobile is Austria’s second largest cellular operator, with 3.3 million subscribers and a 32.5% market share at the end of September 2008, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database.
