Qatar Telecom (Qtel) could hold a tender offer for shares in Indonesia’s second largest telecoms firm by revenues and subscribers, PT Indosat, as it looks to increase its holding to a maximum 65%, Reuters reports citing a statement from the country’ capital market regulator Bapepam. ‘Today Qtel has just registered its statement for a tender offer. The tender offer might be held on 16 January,’ said Bapepam chairman Fuad Rahmany, adding that the offer might inject around USD732 million of liquidity into the market.
