P1 expands WiMAX coverage

Malaysian news source Bernama is reporting that WiMAX operator Packet One Networks (P1) has extended its coverage to the areas of Bandar Kinrara, Kota Damansara, Shah Alam and parts of Overseas Union Garden in Old Klang Road. Additionally the operator has announced that it is running a promotion in which customers can vote for the next area for coverage, with an online voting system indicating the top ten listed on the operator’s website. P1’s CEO Michael Ling said, ‘They will be able to jump ahead of P1’s master rollout schedule and get their P1 WiMAX broadband service sooner.’ According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, P1 launched its WiMAX service in August 2008.
