Regulator sets goals for 2009

23 Dec 2008

Romania’s telecoms regulator, the National Authority for Communications (ANC), has proposed its action plan for 2009, with its objectives to include: ‘lower invoices, operators’ strict observance of user rights, and access to internet and telephone services for all Romanian citizens, whether they live in the centre of Bucharest or in an isolated mountain village’. The watchdog says it will establish new regulatory measures relating to the markets for fixed call origination and call transit in the public telephone networks, retail fixed telephone services (access and calls), local loop unbundling and bitstream access, and leased lines services.
