BSkyB’s Tiscali acquisition talks stall

23 Dec 2008

British triple-play provider BSkyB’s acquisition talks with broadband operator Tiscali UK have stalled, British broadsheet The Guardian reports. Disagreements over the price of the UK unit of Cagliari-based Tiscali are understood to have caused BSkyB to withdraw from negotiations. Tiscali is believed to have expected to raise approximately GBP600 million (USD893 million) from the sale, but BSkyB’s bid is understood to have been around GBP450 million. Talks between the two companies began in November this year.
