Indonesian telecoms operator Bakrie Telecom has won a tender to provide domestic long-distance (DLD) call services in the country, augmenting the international fixed telephony calls tender it won last year. Bakrie’s bid was accepted after rival telco Mobile-8 Telecom failed to submit a bid bond, Tempo Interactive reports. ‘During the selection, Bakrie Telecom committed to build the infrastructure for its ‘SLJJ’ network in at least in 58 cities or regencies, with 15 of them in eastern Indonesia,’ said Gatot S Dewa Broto, a spokesperson for the Communication and Information Department in a press release.
