Panamanian news source Prensa.com is reporting that the Engineering Department of the Municipality of Aguadulce has suspended work on new mobile antennas in the region. The authorities have halted work on three of seven planned antennas that were in the process of being constructed for cellco Claro Panama. According to Maximino Tunon, inspector of municipal land for the region, the stoppage comes as a result of the operator failing to launch a public consultation before beginning work. Huawei Technologies, which is rolling out the infrastructure for Claro Panama, said that it has applied for all necessary work permits, and expects a swift resolution to the matter.
