Rogers’ 7.2Mbps HSDPA national rollout completed

Canadian cellco Rogers has announced that it has completed the national rollout of its 3.5G HSDPA mobile network, which now covers around 75% of the population including the country’s 25 largest markets, and provides maximum (theoretical) download speeds of 7.2Mbps for handset and computer users. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, Rogers launched commercial HSDPA services with maximum download speeds of 3.6Mbps in November 2006, and by December 2007 the 3.5G network covered a total of 28 cities and approximately 60% of the population.
