Optima to launch IPTV in March

Croatian alternative telco Optima Telekom plans to launch commercial IPTV services under the OptiTV brand by the end of March 2009, reports IPTV News. The company has scheduled tests of the new service by the end of this year, and during its first phase it will be available in ten cities currently covered by Optima’s fibre-optic network, Osijek, Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Varazdin, Zadar, Slavonski Brod, Velika Gorica, Karlovac and Samobor. A potential subscriber base of 600,000 will have access to 75 TV channels and personal video recording, with other features to be added based on demand, according to the company. Optima plans to expand OptiTV to all other locations where it operates, as it continues its fibre-optic rollout.
