9 Dec 2008

Hong Kong-based cellco PCCW Mobile and Chinese technology provider Huawei have successfully demonstrated a HSPA+ network and device, using Huawei’s E182E HSPA+ mobile broadband solution, which will be ready for full commercial launch in early 2009. HSPA+ enables mobile data transmission at theoretical peak download speeds of 21Mbps. Richard Midgett, PCCW wireless business managing director, said: ‘It is clear from today’s live demonstration that Huawei’s E182E HSPA+ solution, coupled with PCCW’s sophisticated digital network, will enable PCCW to deliver a world-class mobile broadband experience to our customers through increased network capacity and the highest data speeds.’
