Copaco to launch GSM fixed wireless service today

Paraguayan state-run fixed line incumbent Copaco plans to launch commercial fixed wireless telephony services over its newly deployed GSM network today (5 December), reports BNamericas, citing local paper La Nacion. Copaco has already deployed 118 GSM base station transceivers (BTSs) across the country, mainly targeting rural communities, with each BTS providing coverage in a 25km radius, and the network has an initial capacity of 80,000 lines.
