IIJ launches high speed mobile data service

1 Dec 2008

Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ), a provider of internet access and network solutions, has announced the launch of a high speed 3G/HSDPA service in partnership with one of its consolidated subsidiaries, hi-ho Inc. The IIJ-owned unit, an ISP for the home user segment, is introducing the 7.2Mbps mobile data communications service for its ‘IIJmio high-speed mobile/EM Service’ and ‘hi-ho Mobile Course – EM7.2’ services. Both packages will include an internet connection and data communications terminal provided through an MVNO agreement with network host eMobile. IIJ entered the mobile data communications in January this year as a virtual network operator offering its IIJ Mobile service to business users.
