28 Nov 2008

The government of Colombia is preparing to award 15MHz of spectrum in the 1900MHz band to mobile operators Movistar and Comcel, writes BNamerics citing local press. Currently, the operators each have 40MHz of spectrum covering the 850MHz and 1900MHz bands, the maximum allowed under current legislation. In order to receive more the government will be required to modify the law that limits each operator’s spectrum.
