GVT rolls out fixed voice and internet services to Betim

Brazilian telecoms group Global Village Telecom (GVT) has rolled out fixed telephony and internet services in Betim, Minas Gerais state, BNamericas reports citing a company press release. GVT is launching its new service over a network with installed capacity for 5,000 landlines and more than 3,200 broadband access connections via an investments of BRL5.5 million (USD2.3 million), and expects to double its capacity within a year. The telco’s service is being offered in 24 districts in the municipality, which has around 420,000 inhabitants.
