Estonian fixed line and broadband operator Elion Enterprises has announced a deal with Alcatel-Lucent that will see the latter deploy its home network management solution in a bid to improve the operator’s triple-play services. Alcatel’s solution is expected to streamline and automate installation, and improve customer support, with Elion claiming it will reduce operational costs and improve the quality of service to subscribers. Commenting on the deal, Kalev Reiljan, Elion’s chief technology officer, said, ‘When deployed, the solution will help increase the productivity and efficiency of our customer care and network operations teams.’
According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, Elion’s bundled package combines broadband internet, voice telephony and IPTV, and at the end of June 2008 the operator had 62,800 triple-play subscribers.
