27 Nov 2008

The Dominican Republic telecoms regulator Indotel has revealed that there were almost 50,000 VoIP lines in operation at the end of September 2008. The regulator also revealed that it was considering adjusting the framework of the VoIP sector; currently no specific licence is required to provide VoIP services, and it is treated as a traditional fixed line service, but this could be changed.
