Entel Movil hits two million sign-ups

BNamericas is reporting that Bolivian mobile operator Entel reached two million subscribers on 20 November, following reports in October that it was closing in on the milestone. Entel Movil is a subsidiary of Empresa Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (Entel), the fixed line and broadband provider that was renationalised by Supreme Decree in May 2008. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, Entel Movil is one of four mobile operators in the country, and at end-June 2008 led the market with a 43.4% share; rivals Telecel (Tigo) and NuevaTel had 28.8% and 27.8% respectively.
