Libyan rollout of satellite broadband terminals

In partnership with General Post and Telecommunications Company (GPTC), the national service provider in Libya, satellite-based mobile service operator Thuraya has begun installing ThurayaIP terminals for key user segments including government agencies, oil and gas, military, transport, maritime, media and other users working or located in remote areas. ThurayaIP is an A5 sized portable satellite broadband terminal, which has a speed of 444kbps and video streaming capability at a speed of 384kbps.
