Conroy to offer no response to Telstra’s structural separation queries

20 Nov 2008

Australia’s Communications Minister, Stephen Conroy, has said he will not respond to incumbent Telstra’s calls for clarity on future telecom regulations, despite the telco’s claim it will not bid for the national broadband network (NBN) project if it remains unsure on the matter of structural separation, reports ZD.net. Bids for the NBN tender are due by 26 November and when asked specifically about Telstra’s intention to bid Mr Conroy noted, ‘I’m just noting the fact that Telstra in the past has said they wouldn’t bid for things when they bid for things, but they have to treat each case on a case by case basis.’
