19 Nov 2008

Unitymedia has posted a year-on-year rise of 18% in third quarter revenue to EUR219.3 million (USD276.6 million), as well as 18% growth in adjusted EBITDA to EUR100.9 million. The German cable operator said the results ‘reflected the continued take-up of higher value Unity3play services, higher carriage fees and disciplined fixed cost management to fund increases in customer acquisition costs’. Internet revenues soared by 116% to EUR14.9 million on the back of the successful introduction of new single, dual- and triple-play product offerings in newly upgraded regions. Meanwhile, revenue from the company’s telephony business increased from EUR7.3 million (4% of total cable revenues) in Q3 2007, to EUR14 million (6% of total cable revenues) in Q3 2008.
