Iberbanda’s WiMAX coverage increases

Spanish broadband operator Iberbanda has announced in a press release that its WiMAX network has expanded to cover approximately 45% of the country’s landmass. Iberbanda, which was acquired by Spanish telecoms giant Telefonica in July 2006, operates a WiMAX network based on fixed WiMAX (802.16d) in the 3.5GHz band, with the service offering speeds of up to 4Mbps. The operator offers wireless broadband services in Andalusia, Catalonia, Navarra and Castilla y Leon.
