3G tender draws poor response

The Macedonian Agency for Electronic Communication (AEC)’s recent public tender for licences to offer 3G mobile services in the country has attracted interest from just one company, T-Mobile Macedonia, local newspaper Dnevnik reports. Although 3G technology offers the prospect of faster voice and data services, no other companies – including incumbent cellcos Cosmofon and VIP Mobile – are seemingly interested in bidding for a ten-year licence.
