BT, CANTV, Brasil Telecom and local telcos interested in ETB, paper says

BNamericas is reporting that the United Kingdom’s BT, CANTV of Venezuela, Brasil Telecom (BrT) and local telcos Telefonica Telecom and Telmex Colombia have expressed an interest in becoming the strategic partner of Colombian telco ETB. State-controlled ETB recently selected investment bank Santander Investment Valores Colombia to advise the company on alternatives for finding a strategic partner. The bank is expected to define a strategy for the partner search as well as propose financing alternatives to enable ETB to continue operating in a highly competitive market. According to the local paper La Republica, Santander will make its recommendations in January.
