10 Nov 2008

Macedonia’s fixed line incumbent Makedonski Telekom (MakTel), which trades under the T-Home banner of its German parent Deutsche Telekom, is launching an internet protocol television (IPTV) service on 12 November, under the brand MaxTV. The operator also intends to offer the IPTV service as part of a triple-play bundle, 3 MaxTV, with internet access and fixed telephony, Pressut reports. MakTel’s basic MaxTV package will cost MKD999 (USD20.48) per month and 3 MaxTV will be offered in two flavours – both of which require a one-off subscription payment of MKD1,200. The first package, a 25GB capped internet service, includes 500 call minutes on MakTel’s network and over 70 TV channels. Meanwhile, for MKD2,499 per month, customers can take the telco’s unlimited internet traffic option, which also includes unlimited voice calls on the telco’s network and over 70 TV channels.
