Tata Teleservices (TTSL) has inked a deal with broadband wireless networking systems supplier Ceragon Networks, for the latter to provide its WiMAX Backhaul FibeAir solutions to the Indian cellco. The agreement will see Ceragon’s backhaul systems deployed across TTSL’s network to deliver Ethernet and TDM traffic over the high-capacity wireless networks, as well as assisting in upgrading wireless backhaul capacity to reach up to 500Mbps per radio channel. Commenting on the deal, A.G. Rao, chief technology officer at TTSL said, ‘We have selected Ceragon’s microwave solutions to provide high-capacity backhaul for our CDMA network. Once the solution is deployed, Tata Teleservices will be able to offer a wide range of data and multimedia applications on top of its voice centric package.’
