Etisalat posts 19% year-on-year rise in profits for 3Q 2008

Emirati incumbent telco Etisalat has reported AED2.1 billion (USD572 million) in net profits for the third quarter of 2008, an increase of 19% on the same quarter in 2007. The operator recorded net revenues of AED6.6 billion between 1 July and 30 September 2008, up 24% compared to the third quarter of 2007. Etisalat’s chairman Mohammad Hassan Omran said, ‘The growth rates Etisalat has achieved…reflect the high levels of efficiency and performance at all levels of its management. This has helped us become one of the largest regional and international operators.’
