OTE closing 135 stores

20 Oct 2008

Greek incumbent telco OTE plans to close 135 underperforming retail outlets in an effort to reduce costs. ‘Because of their minimal or zero commercial activity, the company decided to discontinue operations at some stores, [which contribute] approximately 3% of OTE’s consumer goods sales,’ a company statement read. Around 250 staff will be transferred to other positions in the company.
