Nextel Brasil announces northeast expansion

The Brazilian unit of US-based digital trunking company NII Holdings, Nextel Brasil, has revealed it plans to extend service coverage to the northeast of the country next year. Nextel aims to roll out services in the capital cities of states Bahia, Pernambuco, and Ceara in the first half of the year, reports BNamericas, providing direct subsidiaries, stores, local services, customer support and sales workforce. In addition, Nextel intends to expand its footprint to the Espirito Santo state capital Vitoria, in the southeast region, completing the company’s presence in all southeastern states. The telco has already announced investments of USD48.1 million to support the network expansion.
