Qualcomm ban overturned

A US court has overturned an import ban on mobile phones containing chips from equipment manufacturer Qualcomm. The ban was imposed by the International Trade Commission last year after it ruled that the vendor had encouraged customers to infringe a patent held by rival manufacturer Broadcom. The vendor appealed that ruling, and the US Court of Appeals has now found in Qualcomm’s favour, saying the firm did not lead customers into infringing Broadcom patents.
