Guadeloupe ISP Mediaserv has announced the launch of a triple-play service, offering DSL broadband, IPTV and phone calls via a single fixed line connection, reports French journal Ariase. The operator already offered dual-play phone and internet connections, and last month signed a 15-year, EUR11 million (USD14.9 million) agreement with Telekom Malaysia for the provision of additional bandwidth, channelled through the SAT3/SAFE cable system which links Asia to western Europe via South Africa. In 2007 the ISP signed a EUR6 million deal for bandwidth via the Global Caribbean Network. With the launch, Mediaserv has become the first operator in the French departements de l’Outre-mer to provide triple-play, under the name ‘Box Mediaserv’. The package features 27 channels, including TF1, M6, Arte, Direct 8, NRJ Paris, Odyssey, BFM TV, France 24, NT1, KTO, LCP / Public Senate, CNN, Gulli, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, TV5 Monde, W9, TMC, NRJ12, Virgin 17, MCM, NRJ Hits, RFO Guadeloupe, A1 Guadeloupe, Flash TV, Channel 10 and Tempo. However, notable by their absence are any channels from the French public national television broadcaster, France Television.
