Globalstar announces operational launch of Singapore satellite gateway

US-based satellite voice and data communications provider Globalstar has announced that its recently completed Singapore gateway is now fully operational. The new ground station provides for satellite coverage across Singapore, Malaysia and a large part of Indonesia, and much of the surrounding maritime region including the Strait of Malacca, Datamonitor reports. Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) has begun operating the gateway located at its Seletar satellite earth station facility and is preparing to launch Globalstar satellite services before the end of this year.
