Du chooses Nokia Siemens Networks for network expansion

14 Oct 2008

European vendor Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) is to deploy its energy efficient radio network equipment for UAE second national operator (SNO) Du, in an infrastructure expansion and management contract worth around USD225 million. The build-out, which will support 2G, 3G and HSPA technologies, will enable Du to cater for four million subscribers. NSN will install a number of its ‘Flexi’ base stations, which it claims can save the operator up to 70% in on-site power consumption.
