AT&T signs U-verse retail deals

14 Oct 2008

AT&T Inc has agreed a deal which will allow it to market its U-verse fibre-based services at retail outlets of the Circuit City and Wal-Mart chains. The agreement follows a similar deal to sell U-verse through Best Buy stores, and means that the fibre-optic service is now being offered at around 900 new outlets nationwide. AT&T says staff in the stores will be trained to answer customer queries on U-verse TV and internet products, making it easier for consumers to learn about its U-verse range. AT&T is hoping to have a million U-verse TV customers by the end of this year, up from 500,000 at 30 June.
