Azercell network close to 1,500 base stations

Azerbaijani mobile operator Azercell Telecom says it deployed a further 17 permanent base transceiver stations (BTSs) across the country last month to boost its total to close to 1,500. Of the BTSs deployed, three were sited in the capital Baku, and the remainder were installed in Agjabadi, Balakan, Barda, Beylagan, Jalilabad, Ganja, Goychay, Goy-gol, Ismayilly, Gakh, Yardimly, Zagatala and Zardab regions. The operator’s network currently comprises two Home Location Registers, 15 Base Stations Controller Systems, twelve Mobile Services Switching Centres and 1,494 radio BTSs. Azercell’s subscriber base totals 3.5 million users.
