KPN to launch French MVNO with 20:20?

6 Oct 2008

Dutch telecoms group KPN is preparing to launch a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in France using Bouygues Telecom’s network, according to a report in the French business daily Les Echos. The Netherlands-based firm has not divulged its plans for branding and pricing the new service, nor has it said when and how it will launch and distribute the service. However, Les Echos says KPN may look to replicate the business model of its Spanish no-frills MVNO brand Simyo, and use Spanish distribution partner 20:20 Mobile to help launch the service in mainland France. 20:20 Mobile, which has an established presence in France, declined to comment.
