iBurst commercial WiMAX launch

Wireless broadband operator iBurst has switched on its commercial WiMAX network. About 120 base stations are already live in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town with plans to expand the network to 250 base stations by the end of 2009. The company says the network has been targeted in areas that will serve potential corporate customers. Prices for the broadband service start at ZAR855 (USD103.5) a month for a 512Kbps connection with a 5GB per month bandwidth cap. The assured-rate service starts at ZAR4,330 a month
