Juniper Networks has announced that Divona Telecom has selected its MX-series Ethernet services routers to create a high speed backhaul network to meet growing demand for its wireless broadband services. The deployment is designed to address Divona’s requirement to increase network capacity, reduce operational costs and accelerate the delivery of advanced fixed and mobile wireless broadband services to the operator’s premium corporate customers. ‘Our customer base is set to double every quarter in the coming four years, therefore, sufficient capacity is critical to the future of our business. We are also deploying WiMAX connectivity in five major cities in Tunisia and required a backhaul network that could reduce operational expenses even as we accelerate the delivery of new services,’ said Mohamed Garbouj, chief executive officer, Divona Telecom.
Since its establishment in 2003 Divona Telecom has expanded operations into Algeria, sub-Saharan Africa and territories in Europe and Asia. Today it is one of Africa’s leading satellite and WiMAX telecoms operators, offering broadband internet, call centre, hosting and international leased line services.
