Telecom Italia plans to keep hold of its German broadband subsidiary HanseNet, reports Rapid TV News. Carlos Lambarri, HanseNet’s managing director, told local newspaper Handelsblatt that he was not in Germany to sell the business. The operator, which offers triple-play services (IPTV, internet access and telephony) under the Alice brand, has been linked with Vodafone and Telefonica in recent months. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, HanseNet is Germany’s fourth largest broadband operator by subscribers, with 2.4 million users at the end of June 2008.
