Alca-Lu bags KPN broadband contract

Dutch former fixed line monopoly KPN Telecom has awarded Alcatel-Lucent (Alca-Lu) a three-year contract to supply a next generation broadband access network. Comtex reports that under the deal, Alca-Lu will deploy point-to-point, fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and VDSL2 fibre-to-the node (FTTN) network platforms, as well as providing network management tooling, customer premise equipment (CPE), residential gateways, installation, deployment and commissioning services.
