30 Sep 2008

The Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Agency (RURA), acting on behalf of the government, has fined MTN Rwanda RWF70 million (USD130,000) for poor network services, reports IDG News Service. The move follows the failure of the operator to implement network upgrades and address problems such as dropped calls. The fine is believed to cover the period November 2007 to April 2008, and MTN says it has since carried out the necessary improvements.
